What better way to get acquainted with Holiday beer than a December beer festival offering local, national and imported selections? For instance, BrewLights 2016 — a craft beer festival held amidst Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo’s animal family, adorned by a plethora of holiday lights and accompanied by plenty of holiday tunes. The scene at BrewLights made it tough not to get into the holiday spirit. Throw in a little nip in the air and the smell of Christmas beer, and it’s as if Santa himself has arranged the party. As you shop this year, it may be difficult to know what holiday-seasonal beers to purchase, so let’s go through the 12 beer samples of Christmas provided at BrewLights 2016.

Event Preview | Parade of Darks

This Saturday marks the 5th annual Parade of Darks holiday beer festival, hosted by Metro Caring. This year’s event will take place at the Tivoli Student Center’s Turnhalle Room on the Auraria Campus in downtown Denver. He’s the brains behind such iconic slogans as Great Divide’s “Great Minds Drink Alike”, Oskar Blues’ “Canned Beer Apocalypse” and New Belgium’s “Contents Under Pleasure”. Along that same vein, Marty was also one of the early pioneers advocating for the practice of canning craft beer both at Oskar Blues and later at Wynkoop Brewing.

While BCBS hunting on Black Friday has become a bit of a national tradition as of late, last year’s BCBS came under fire after a incidents of infection occurring amongst select batches of the beer. That said, our staff was treated to a sneak peek of this year’s lineup and all indications are that BCBS is back in a big way.
