Cerebral Brewing’s Work from Home – Coffee Maple Porter, A New Beer Release Model
March 16, 2018 | Scott DavidsonWhat’s better than enjoying a Sunday morning in your PJs, watching cartoons, eating waffles covered in powdered sugar, butter, whip cream, and maple syrup with a side of bacon, while drinking a barrel aged Porter made with Vermont maple syrup and Colombian coffee, out of a custom-made mug, at one of your favorite breweries?
Civil Society Brewing | Fade Away
March 16, 2018 | Anna DacostaPorters are a favorite for many, and I recently tried one that tasted too good not to share with you all. Civil Society Brewing has a delicious porter that has been hopped with Chinook, Mosaic and Amarillo. Civil Society did not get their nationwide popularity based on porters, so I am happy to highlight Fade Away. This gem of an American Porter was released again last month with a one pack per person limit. Finally, a rotating beer made it back home to me. I could not wait to open one up, so I took the opportunity on a Fri-YAY (and also one of Florida’s lovely, random cooler days). Read More

Listermann Brewing Company | Call To Farms
March 15, 2018 | Christian LemonIn the late 1930s, much of the world was at war. As time marched on, and the turmoil of afar reached over the ocean to impact American society, men volunteered to serve in the military. Great navies carried American men from both coasts to fight the ideologies of totalitarian regimes while patriarchal American society now found itself reliant on a female workforce to take up the slack. Call To Farms, by Listermann Brewing Company in Cincinnati, Ohio, is a triumphant expression of collaboration and hard work.

Starr Hill Brewery | Front Row Golden Ale
March 14, 2018 | Dan BortzNot every beer needs to be a whale or unicorn. The humble fridge beer holds a very important place in the beer drinker’s daily routine. This is a beverage that you can enjoy with a simple home-cooked meal, while mowing the lawn or during a pre-concert tailgate party — to mitigate the need to purchase $12 light beers inside the venue. Starr Hill‘s Front Row is an easy-drinking golden ale that fulfills all of these needs beautifully.

ShipCompliant Announces CO Beer Summit on Brand Management
March 13, 2018 | Tristan ChanWith well over 6,000 breweries currently operating in the U.S., it takes more than just brewing great beer to succeed. Starting a brewery in today’s climate can be tough to navigate. In addition to brewing great beer that people will enjoy, hiring the right staff, defining your brand, marketing that brand and running a small business, you also have to wade through licensing, liquor laws, tax compliance and endless amounts of red tape.
Founders Brewing Company | Solid Gold Premium Lager
March 13, 2018 | Jessica SpenglerTrends and tastes are cyclical. And as we’ve detailed on this site before, such is the case with beer. Sure hazy IPAs and pastry stouts are all the rave right now, but it certainly won’t always be the case. And just as American craft beer lovers currently crave innovative over-the-top ingredients, it’s likely the trend will eventually shift back toward sessionable, traditional styles.
That said, for the past several decades, what most American beer consumers think of when they hear the word lager, typically drifts to the watered down macro lagers that have dominated sales for so long. For years American Lagers have been associated with the blue collar, no-nonsense, no taste domestics that rule the beer industry. Founders Brewing is seeking to change that with their latest release of Solid Gold Premium Lager.

The Mitten Brewing Company | Country Strong American IPA
March 9, 2018 | Jessica Spengler 2I love a good IPA. I know I’m not alone in this, and I do not mind. Because when people love good IPAs, they make good IPAs, and that means more for me. In Michigan, it’s not hard to find good IPAs, which is why when one stands out to me, it’s for good reason. The Mitten Brewing Company’s Country Strong American IPA is just one of those standouts, and it has become my new go-to brew.

Event Recap | Warm Temps, Sundry Styles at Winter Craft Beer Festival
March 8, 2018 | Kara RowlandWith temperatures in the mid-60s, there may not have been much “winter” in Boulder’s Winter Craft Beer Festival, but there were still plenty of tasty, cold-weather beer styles for revelers to enjoy this past weekend.
The options weren’t limited to porters, stouts and other dark beers, however. Loveland Aleworks had a slew of crisp, fruity sours on hand—a decision that Jason Brill, head of sales and distribution at Loveland, described as a no-brainer. “It’s really a core product for us,” Brill said. “A sour drinker is going to drink sours all year long.” (As a sour enthusiast, I can attest to the veracity of that statement.)
