Beer Lines and What They Say About the Culture of Craft Beer
May 21, 2019 | Mike Zoller 1A few weeks ago as I walked into my office, I noticed a massive line stretching around the block. It was just after 7 a.m. in the middle of the week; clearly, these people had been waiting either overnight or since very early in the morning. It wasn’t freezing out, but it wasn’t warm. I later found out they were waiting for the BTS, the Korean music group, pop-up store to open up. I thought they were all crazy.
Firestone Walker Brewing | Easy Jack IPA
May 20, 2019 | Robert FrenchWhether you’re critiquing someone’s beer selection at the local store or researching overall beer sales, you will quickly notice lighter beers lead the pack in sales. The top 10 beers in overall sales are littered with light beers. Beers that are lower in alcohol and calories are not new, but now craft beer is starting to taking notice and looking to capture some of that market share.
So, why can’t hoppy beers be light? Low-calorie beers have been traditionally Lagers and Pilsners. It’s great to see hop forward beers now starting to enter this space. After all, it’s not the hops that are adding calories to your beer. You don’t even want to know how many calories are in that pastry Stout.

April 26, 2019 | Anna DacostaI may or may not have watched Beyoncé’s Coachella performance that premiered on Netflix multiple times. I can’t help it, she was incredible. The band and dancers were unbelievable. I can’t imagine how awesome that must have been live. We also learn that her discipline to prepare did not include beer, which makes sense even though that brings a tear to every craft beer lover’s eye. It’s okay Queen B, we have been drinking for you.
