For the second year in a row, Beer Under Glass — the official kickoff to Chicago’s Craft Beer Week — was the benefit of great weather on the evening of the event. Although the temperature dropped 30 degrees throughout the night, that pales in comparison to recent years plagued by rain and bitter cold, which turned the outdoor grounds of the Garfield Park Conservatory into a muddy disaster.

The Bruery Sells Majority Stake to Castanea Partners

Orange County, CA based craft brewery, The Bruery, announced this morning, that it has entered into a partnership agreement with Castanea Partners, which would sell a majority stake to the Boston, MA based private equity firm.

The experimental and barrel-aged focused, The Bruery explained the decision to partner with Castanea this morning via a blog post stating “which will enable us to continue to grow in ways consistent with our ideals”.

Even the forecast for a Nor’easter couldn’t keep the spirits down at the first annual Phoenixville Beer and Wine Festival in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. Despite the wind and the rain, the masses descended upon the rain-soaked Kimberton Fairgrounds to attend the sold-out event with raincoats and umbrellas in tow. Twenty-six craft breweries, along with multiple cideries, wineries, distillers and meaderies came to show off their creations for the thirsty crowd.

Ursula Brewery | Imperial Crustless: Just the Way Mom Made It

Ursula Brewery in Aurora, Colorado released “PB&J Porter” last year in March, then it won a gold medal at the Colorado State Fair, so they re-brewed it and called it “Crustless”.
