Ultimate 6er | Washington Collaboration Beers
May 5, 2016 | Katelyn PelakThe collaborative spirit of the craft beer industry has long been one of my favorite topics to cover, so I was ecstatic to learn about the first-ever Washington Beer Collaboration Festival put on by the Washington Beer Commission. The two-day festival featured 25 collaboration beers from 50 different Washington breweries and celebrated the collaborative and creative culture among Washington brewers. I attended the inaugural festival on a sunny Saturday afternoon and sampled about half of these unique brews. Read on for some of my favorite concoctions from this innovative festival.
Ultimate 6er | Denver’s Top Beer
May 4, 2016 | Ryan KnauffDenver is a city of world class breweries. You can literally close your eyes, spin around, start walking in any particular direction, and you’ll find amazing beer. I’m talking world class, triple-A examples of every style imaginable. But what if we were to narrow down everything that we have to offer into a format that we all understand? A six pack perhaps? The rules are simple: the beers can’t be distributed out of state, have to be available at least once per year, and packaging isn’t a requirement. Yes, I have taken on the unreasonably lofty task of narrowing down the top in the state to six total beers. Clearly you can’t go wrong with Denver beers, but these in my opinion, are some of the beers that are most representative of Denver’s top tier craft beer scene. Be gentle. Read More

8 Georgia Beers to Drink This Spring
April 28, 2016 | Jess BakerGeorgia in spring is both a blessing and a curse. The drenching humidity is still a few weeks away, so for now you can still enjoy your drinks on the patio — that is, if you can tolerate patios, window sills, cars, running shoes, and everything else being covered with a fuzzy blanket of yellow pollen.
Whether your spring drinking spot is outdoors or cozied up to a bar — safe from allergies and early spring sunburn — these are the eight Georgia beers to try right now.

Inside the Tank | Forbidden Root’s BJ Pichman
April 21, 2016 | Mike ZollerWith so many breweries operating in Chicago, the ability to stand out is critical. Forbidden Root has been brewing beer for a couple of years now, and in February of this year they opened up a beautiful new tap room in West Town. The brewery uses botanics in its beers such as ginger, cherry stems, black walnuts and licorice to create unique flavor profiles.
Right Brain Brewery | Naughty Girl Stout
April 19, 2016 | Niel StenderABV: 6.4%
I’m a sucker for Girl Scout cookies. When the little ladies are selling door-to-door, I lose control and start checking off order-form-boxes wildly. When they’re sitting at a table outside the supermarket, I slide my arm across the display shoveling all available product into the cart. And of course, I double down on Thin Mints. Read More

19th Anniversary Ale | SweetWater Brewing Co.
April 1, 2016 | John AmanteaABV: 7.0%
There’s a lot love about craft beer: the people, the stories, the creativity, and those senses of freedom and abandon from the monotony of big domestics… Oh yeah, and the beer of course. The incredible vastness of the array of flavors and choices mixed with the never-ending search for newer and better makes this craft beer bubble so unique and so fun. Yet in the midst of all this, there seems to be one aspect of it that tends to get overlooked:

West Seattle Brewing Co. | IPA
March 29, 2016 | Katelyn Pelak6.8% ABV | 67 IBU
West Seattle Brewing Company is one of the quieter breweries in the Seattle area, but that doesn’t make it any less quintessentially Seattle. The brewery, which reopened after renovations last summer, offers a coffee bar for early morning commuters, 18 taps, and a kid/dog-friendly space that has been called “West Seattle’s living room.” To top it all off, the Seattle Sounders 2016 schedule has a permanent location at the entrance of the bar. West Seattle Brewing truly offers the unassuming, laid back experience that Seattle breweries are known for, complete with plentiful options, friendly staff, and – most importantly – delicious beer.
