12 Must-Visit Denver Breweries You Won’t Find at GABF
October 5, 2016 | Chris DayThe Great American Beer Festival is huge. With almost 800 breweries on the roster, it feels like you have the whole craft beer world at your fingertips when you step on that tasting floor. However, it’s easy to forget that some Colorado breweries aren’t participating, even ones a few minutes away from the convention center. While we love GABF, it would be a shame to visit Denver without checking out a few of these fantastic local breweries. Read More

Event Recap | Mainline Ale House & Odell Brewing Co. Fall Beer Dinner
September 30, 2016 | Cecelia KathleenTwo beer-centric establishments of Fort Collins, Mainline Ale House and Odell Brewing Company, joined forces last Friday night in bringing roughly forty attendees an unforgettable four course beer dinner. At the start of dinner, Mainline’s Executive Chef Justin Burdick really emphasized sourcing local ingredients (shout out to the Fort Collins Farmers Market) and fall-forward flavors. The Mainline kitchen did not disappoint in delivering four thoughtful, tasty pairings to accompany always-solid Odell beers. Moreover, after Chef Justin discussed each dish, Odell beer representative Alex Cousins presented the story, style, and flavors of the beers during each respective course. Overall, Mainline’s motto, “A passion for beer and food you can taste,” could not have been more evident over the course of this event!

Ultimate 6er | Austin Breweries to Try at GABF
September 29, 2016 | Pam CatoeThe problem with Austin beers is that most of them never make it out of the state, (unless you have a good beer mail connection), due to the sheer size of the state and the ravenous consumption here. Several Austin breweries will be pouring at GABF this year and many of them are pouring beers that you can rarely even get in Austin. So get your pencils ready and mark down these Austin staples on your list of must-try beers!

Avery Brewing Company | Ale to the Chief
September 26, 2016 | Mathew Powers8.1% ABV | 19.1 degrees Plato (OG)
Avery Brewing Company Ale to the Chief is around for a third term. Don’t worry, there’s no dictatorship here — it’s all about democracy. In that spirit, this isn’t the first time we’ve written about Ale to the Chief. Four years ago, PorchDrinking’s own chief wrote a blurb about Avery’s Ale to the Chief, but there’s a new political and beer climate around, it’s time for a new voice. It’s time for my voice. It’s time for change!
