Since 1987, the Great Taste of the Midwest has been a chance for Midwest breweries and beer lovers to converge on Madison, Wisconsin to enjoy some of the region’s best beers. This past Saturday the tradition continued with some new safety precautions, but that didn’t impact the festival which once again brought the beer community together.

Hidden Hand Brewery Operates Within Another Brewery | Both are Thriving

Illinois’ Solemn Oath Brewery is ambitious. Founded in Naperville, the brewery continues to grow its presence through well-crafted IPAs and GABF medal-winning beers like their prestigious Lu Kolsch. Part of that strategic growth was opening up a secondary taproom in the brewery-filled Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago. The latest strategic venture is the establishment of their Hidden Hand Brewery operation, which exclusively brews IPAs and DIPAs inside the four walls of the larger Solemn Oath operation.

Go to any backyard BBQ in south Texas and you’ll likely see beers dressed in some form of chili-lime salt. Usually used on mass-produced lagers (especially those in a green bottle marked with two red X’s), dressing a beer has typically been a way to add flavor to mediocre beer, and the trend seems to be spreading. But what if a beer was intentionally brewed to compliment the addition while also tasty enough to stand on its own? That’s exactly what Cactus Land Brewing Co. set out to do with their Lucas Salted Pilsner, and based on the reaction from the locals, they’ve created the perfect beer to enjoy in the South Texas heat.
Revolution Brewing Announces 2021-2022 Deep Wood Lineup

It seems as if Revolution Brewing’s Deep Wood release in July was a tease for the announcement of the full 2021-2022 lineup that happened less than a week later. In typical Revolution fashion, the releases will happen once a month staring in October and concluding in January.
V.S.O.J. Once Again Shines in Revolution’s Summer Deep Wood Release

When Revolution Brewing opens its doors to the public Friday to launch the latest batch of Deep Wood beers, it will be the first no-restrictions in-person beer release event in the city of Chicago since the pandemic began.
A staple of previous Revolution beer releases, the taproom party featured drafts of the beers being released as well as some rare and special drafts for people to try. Over the past year and a half, the brewery had to settle for curbside pick-ups as the pandemic restrictions remained in effect.

We even had some breweries creating some baseball-themed beers, like Denver Beer Co., which released Big League Sticky since we last talked. Let’s keep the fun going this weekend by showing some love to your favorite local breweries!

You have sweat rolling down your forehead, and it’s just so humid that water isn’t going to cut it to cool you off. Faintly in the distance you hear the unmistakable sound that every kid loves to hear. Sure enough, coming down the street, you catch the first glimpse of a faded pink and yellow van with a huge ice cream cone attached to the roof. Ice cream, that will do the trick!

Ambrosia, the drink of the gods! At least that’s what we know according to Greek mythology. Ambrosia was the drink of choice given to the gods because it was thought to give them immortality upon consumption of this fine liquid. Bryan Crass, the head brewer for RockSolid Brewing Company located in historic Ball Ground, GA said, “we think this beer is absolutely divine, worthy of the gods yet available to you!”

When Brienne Allan, Brewer at Notch Brewing, asked a question via an Instagram story: “Have you ever experienced sexism in the beer industry?” the floodgates unexpectedly opened with personal stories exposing the pervasive nature of the industry’s deep-seated misogyny, harassment, racism, and sexual assault.
At that moment, there was no turning back and the craft beer industry was finally going to have a long-overdue reckoning that would consume high-profile breweries, beer education organizations, and many more across the industry.
The Vail Craft Beer Classic Returns
