Every 4th of July, citizens across the U.S. gather together to watch their local parade. Red, white and blue floats, outfits and decorations dominate the show, music fills the air, and kids wait in anticipation for candy. Some parades have tractors, some have two-story floats, and others have dancers and singers. While not everyone gets exactly the same show, there are a few parade commonalities across the country that spectators are guaranteed to see. For this special 4th of July edition of our Ultimate 6er, we bring you six of those common elements and the beers that go alongside them.
I just want to thank America for doing (mostly) the right thing this week. Great work everybody! Now that we’ve taken steps to reinstate a check on our country’s executive branch, I feel safe imbibing a fine craft-brewed beverage. Crack open a beer and discover all this stuff I found on Twitter and Instagram. This is The Weekly Buzz.
Another week has come and gone, and my life is just as crazy as ever. We are still unpacking everything in our new house, and I’ve been working a ton of overtime. At least I have beer to keep me sane. Delicious, comforting beer… Anyhoo… Here’s some stuff I found on Twitter and Instagram. This is The Weekly Buzz.
It is so hot in my house that I want to purchase a walk-in freezer to live inside. The worst part of this summer hasn’t even been the heat. The rain has been far more oppressive in the Northeast. In the last two weeks, I have pumped more water out of my basement than I did in the two years prior. It’s insanity. Good thing Climate Change is a hoax, or we’d really be screwed! Anyhoo… I found some beer stuff on social media, so I copied and pasted it for you to read. Welcome to The Weekly Buzz.
I’m back from vacation and gotten back to my daily grind. After one shift at work, I’ve decided that it is already time for another holiday. Why is that first day back always so hard? I can’t even drink beer to cope because I’m trying to undo the damage that I did with a week of seafood buffets and booze. Luckily, “Beer Twitter” was actually pretty fun this week! Here’s all the shenanigans worth sharing. It’s The Weekly Buzz!
There’s nothing quite as special in the world of animation as Cartoon Network’s Steven Universe. Rebecca Sugar created this pastel wonderland out of her love of classic anime, space opera, and enchanting melody. The result of her hard work is not only one of the best cartoons of this decade but an incredible examination of sci-fi-infused LGBTQ discovery.
The PorchDrinking staff was so busy drinking and writing about great beer that they didn’t even have time to send us their photos! Luckily, we have a few powerful multitaskers in our midst who sent these glorious beers for us to ogle. Grab a sticky note and prepare to take some brief notes. This is What We’re Drinking.
It’s been another fun week on Beer Twitter! There has been so much going on that a bunch of things probably slipped past my net. Either way, I’ve got a fun collection of stuff for you in this week’s edition of The Weekly Buzz, so make sure your boss isn’t around, crack open a beer and start scrolling!
The 2018 Winter Olympic Games are just around the corner, and athletes from around the globe and all walks of life will be heading to PyeongChang to compete on the world’s stage. Each one of them striving for that common goal: to achieve personal triumph and stand on top of the podium as Olympic champion. For those of us that didn’t quite qualify this time around, we are perfectly content enjoying the competition from the comfort of our couches usually with a few beers. So here are some to pour that pair nicely with a few of the respected sports in the Games and their storylines that will be captivating audiences.
The NFL season is in full force and several teams are competing for a playoff spot. There are some teams however that do not stand a chance even making the playoffs. Rumors are floating about key players being traded, coaches being fired, and who is in the competition for #1 pick in the draft. While several teams’ seasons have been over for weeks that isn’t an excuse to not have a good time. The best way for players to get through the next few months is with a beer that helps them forget (or remember) their team’s woes.
Welcome to this special double-edition of The Weekly Buzz. I had a work obligation that stopped me from posting last week, but fear not! I did manage to collect all the content, which is good because there was a LOT going on. Anyway… Here’s the best beer-related Twitter and Instagram content from the last two weeks. It’s time to start sipping on this special barrel-aged bottle of The Weekly Buzz!
This week’s edition of The Weekly Buzz is going to be a little shorter than usual. It’s November, and cold weather has finally arrived, but I refuse to admit it and fire up the furnace. It is a brisk 54 degrees in my living room, and I will soon be departing to enjoy some free heat at my local gym. I might even work out, too! In the meantime, here’s some stuff I found on the internet. Cheers!
Did you imbibe a little too much on National American Beer Day? Are you repressing your Halloween memories? Were your International Stout Day celebrations a bit too raucous? We’ve got you covered. Every fun social media moment that the craft beer world could conjure is right here in our handy little list. This is The Weekly Buzz.
It’s the week after GABF. We’re all worn out from all the crazy social media chatter. That’s why I kept this edition of The Weekly Buzz short, sweet and light. There are a few event postings, a job announcement and some good old fashioned shenanigans. So, grab a beer. It’s time to zone out and stare at The Weekly Buzz.
Like most residents of southeastern Pennsylvania, I am a Philadelphia Eagles fan. If there is one truth that any good Eagles fan holds above all others, it is the fact that the Dallas Cowboys are the scourge of the NFC East and must be destroyed. There’s definitely someone over at Weyerbacher who bleeds green because they have just released the perfect beer for tailgating at Lincoln Financial Field. They even gave it the perfect name: Dallas Sucks.
I know I said that I wasn’t going to write about the Great American Beer Festival, but I am setting my grudge aside for the good of my dear readers! GABF 2017 wrapped up on Saturday night, and even though I was on the outside looking in, it seemed like a blast. We’ve collected tons of fun posts from this year’s festival, so prepare to live vicariously through your fellow beer nerds! This is The Weekly Buzz: GABF 2017 Edition!
Between all the Oktoberfest celebrations, beer festivals and Zwanze day, there were dozens of events this week, and there are even more coming next week. Have you heard about this GABF thing? Apparently it’s starting to get pretty big! I also found a few job listings, photos from hop harvest and more than one made up holiday. Strap in, dear readers. This is The Weekly Buzz.
Today is the first day of fall, although you wouldn’t know it. It’s supposed to be in the 80s again in Pennsylvania. Ridiculous. Oktoberfest beers are releasing, and I’m stuck here wondering how exactly I’m supposed to enjoy a ridiculously oversized Märzen in that kind of heat? I guess I will just have to suck it up and muddle through. Finish off those summer seasonals that you’ve been hoarding and get ready for The Weekly Buzz!
This week was a bummer in a lot of ways. Houston is still reeling from Harvey, Florida got beat up by Irma and we remembered the anniversary of a devastating terrorist attack. You know what, though? We got through it. We’ll continue to get through it. Even though at times it may seem like we are kicking ourselves in the ass, we’ll find a way to make it right. Until that day, we will have America’s greatest coping mechanism at our disposal–beer. Crack open a fresh one, and get ready for The Weekly Buzz.
It’s a federal holiday, an extra day off from work and, above all else, a celebration of independence. The Fourth of July is a celebration of our nation’s independence but, this week, we also found ourselves in a discussion about the independence of craft beer. In this edition of The Weekly Buzz, we’ll explore life, liberty (from Big Beer) and the pursuit of happiness. There’s no better way to pursue happiness than by enjoying a fresh, American-made craft beer, so I suggest you drink one while reading!
