April 28, 2022 | Ruvani de Silva“To watch someone slowly fade away in front of your eyes over many years, and to not be able to do anything about it will stop you in your tracks. Wild Leap Brew Co. | Alpha Abstraction Volume 20 Double IPA
April 27, 2022 | Jason MurphyHow does a brewery in today’s craft beer market keep a specific beer around and keep it relevant? One way to do that would be to have a rotational series of a specific beer that feature different hops and ingredients each time it’s brewed and released. Although that’s a very good start, that’s not all that goes into keeping a beer alive. Obviously, each version would have to be of superior quality and taste as well. We’re going to take a closer look at the latest offering from Wild Leap Brew Co out of Lagrange, GA and their Alpha Abstraction rotational series of Double IPAs.
Colorado’s Best Non-Adjunct Barrel-Aged Stout Blind Tasting Presented by On Tap Credit Union
April 26, 2022 | Tristan Chan 4It may seem odd to conduct a Barrel-Aged Stout blind tasting in the middle of April, but let’s be real, it’s always Stout season. The truth is that we fully intended for this to take place in December, but as it often goes, life got in the way and we were forced to postpone. Nevertheless, we still put the call out to all Colorado breweries to submit their best non-adjunct Barrel-Aged Stouts to be judged by our panel of experts, and we were able to field 32 entries for our second installment of the Colorado Blind Tasting series. Special thanks to our friends at On Tap Credit Union for helping to make this Blind Tasting Series possible!

Brewery Showcase | Strong Rope Brewery
April 22, 2022 | Kevin KainIt’s highly unlikely that Strong Rope Brewery owner Jason Sahler envisioned barley and sailboats when he earned his Sustainability degree from New York University. Yet there he was several years later, receiving a delivery of New York State grown barley that had been sailed down the Hudson River to his brewery in Brooklyn. It’s just one example of the unanticipated ways Sahler applies his sustainability background to his business. Read More

April 14, 2022 | Eric GriffinIt has been just over two years since the inaugural Side Project Invitational came and went, setting a new standard for craft beer festivals. Not long after its debut on February 2, 2020, the entire world was shaken by the COVID-19 pandemic, the effects of which are continuing to bare their teeth even into the early parts of 2022. It hasn’t all been bad, though. On January 31, Side Project announced the second Invitational, which was to include not only Barrel-Aged Stouts & Barleywines, but instead all varieties of oak-aged beer. This, to the joy of many, was set to include the wild, the funky and the sour.

The new release in the series, Save the Sacks Helles Lager, takes testicular cancer to heart and in an obvious way. Save the Sacks was released on the first of April, which is testicular cancer awareness month, and it’s no joke. Read More
