Fair Isle Brewing | Eleanor Farmhouse Ale

Sometimes the best beers are the ones you stumble upon. Get lost in a new city, let your phone die (or be smart and bring a charger) and wander into a nearby brewery. Fair Isle Brewing is located in the Ballard neighborhood in Seattle, Washington. It’s in great company among the largest concentration of breweries in the Seattle area, but Fair Isle does things differently. They focus solely on Saisons and Farmhouse Ales. While the beer menu is impressive, Eleanor alone is worth the trip.

Recently, I was able to leave the Midwest for the first time in 15 months and head on over to Denver. Considering the last time I went, I hit up 11 breweries in two and a half days, I was looking forward to seeing what damage I could do in five and a half. While it was difficult, I whittled six of my favorite beers from six of the breweries I visited during my trip!

Elsewhere Brewing, in Atlanta, Georgia, is undoubtedly one of the best places in town to grab a beer or meal. Travel and adventure are two things close to the heart of owners Sara and Sam Kazmer. This influence of travel is evident in the taplist and kitchen menu. The ambiance invokes the sense of wonder and journey as cacti and greenery sprawl throughout the space.
There’s room at the table for everyone, and a beer for them, too. European-style Pilsners to Fruit Sours, IPAs to Pastry Stouts all have a place on the rotating taplist. The beer getting all of the attention in this showcase, though, is their Landscape Lager Organic Keller Pils. Read More
Shippingport Brewing Wants to Be a Catalyst for Change in Louisville’s West End

When Amelia Pillow decided to open her own brewery, she wanted to pick a location that could be a catalyst for change for the neighborhood she calls home. Pillow opened Shippingport Brewing in the Portland neighborhood of Louisville, KY, becoming the first taproom and brewpub to open in Louisville’s West End.
Denver Beer Co. NFT Release Grants Owner “Beer for Life”

How much would you pay to drink for free, for the rest of your life, at your favorite Craft Brewery? It’s a question that was answered by one Denver Beer Co. enthusiast when he won the auction for the “Beer for Life” NFT recently for 4.33 of the Cryptocurrency Ethereum (roughly $9,200 USD at the time of purchase).
“We like to play on the edge of the news and be fresh and try new things,” says Denver Beer Co.’s Co-Founder Charlie Berger. “We had to learn about NFT’s. Not many people knew about them nine months ago. We really just wanted to just try it, and we wanted to learn about it by creating it.”
West Sixth Brewing | Illuminator Barrel Aged Doppelbock

In 2019, Kentucky’s West Sixth Brewing and Louisville distiller Angel’s Envy teamed up to brew a series of bourbon barrel-aged beers. Among the beers brewed for this project is the Illuminator Barrel Aged Doppelbock. This German-style lager is aged in Angel’s Envy barrels and finished in port wine barrels, giving it notes of caramel, bread crust and dark fruits.

V.S.O.J. Once Again Shines in Revolution’s Summer Deep Wood Release

When Revolution Brewing opens its doors to the public Friday to launch the latest batch of Deep Wood beers, it will be the first no-restrictions in-person beer release event in the city of Chicago since the pandemic began.
A staple of previous Revolution beer releases, the taproom party featured drafts of the beers being released as well as some rare and special drafts for people to try. Over the past year and a half, the brewery had to settle for curbside pick-ups as the pandemic restrictions remained in effect.

With the MLB All-Star Game festivities having been in Denver the past few days, we’ve gotten to see a substantial amount of traffic going through our local breweries, as baseball fans flocked to Denver. We even had some breweries creating some baseball-themed beers, like Denver Beer Co., which released Big League Sticky since we last talked. Campaign Launched to Make the Kentucky Common the Official Beer of Kentucky

A campaign has been launched to make the Kentucky Common the official beer of the state of Kentucky. Michael Moeller, co-founder of Louisville Ale Trail, sent a request to Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear’s office to consider naming the Kentucky Common the official beer style of Kentucky through executive order.
Kentucky has a state flower, a state tree, a state mammal, a state horse, a state food, a state dance, and many more state insignias. It’s time to add a state beer to the list.

You have sweat rolling down your forehead, and it’s just so humid that water isn’t going to cut it to cool you off. Faintly in the distance you hear the unmistakable sound that every kid loves to hear. Sure enough, coming down the street, you catch the first glimpse of a faded pink and yellow van with a huge ice cream cone attached to the roof. Ice cream, that will do the trick!

Ambrosia, the drink of the gods! At least that’s what we know according to Greek mythology. Ambrosia was the drink of choice given to the gods because it was thought to give them immortality upon consumption of this fine liquid. Bryan Crass, the head brewer for RockSolid Brewing Company located in historic Ball Ground, GA said, “we think this beer is absolutely divine, worthy of the gods yet available to you!”
Knotted Root Brewing Celebrates Second Anniversary On Top Of The World

Nestled in the foothills of Boulder, CO, the tiny town of Nederland is more than 8,000 feet above sea level. The winding road into town is about 16 miles of pure straight up, twisting through the mountains, running parallel to a roaring creek, making you feel closer to the sky than the ground. It’s fitting, then, that Knotted Root Brewing Company has made its home here. At its second-year anniversary party (which occurred this past Fourth of July weekend), it was tough to imagine any other brewery feeling more on top of the world.

They refer to them as “lost friends” and it became the namesake for Lost Friend Brewing Company. Lost Friend Brewing is so dog-centric that they have placed carabiners on tables for convenient securing of your furry friend.
