Foeder-Aged Ales at Pathlight Brewing

A glance at the Pathlight Brewing tap list reveals an impressive variety: ranging from an English Dark Mild, to a milkshake IPA called $ugar DaddY, to wild ales with wine grapes. Brewers Tanner Vaughn and David Harris strive to make “a little bit of everything.” The menu has something for every beer drinker.

We made it to 2022! Hopefully, you all had a great New Year and have been making it through the start of January fairly smoothly at this point. As we take a look at the new canned/bottled releases coming out around Colorado, we’re definitely seeing the number of new beers pick back up, and we can’t wait to try them!
Keep an eye out in the coming weeks for a new version of the Colorado Beer Beat. We may have a few surprises for those of you that want to know about the new releases even further in advance!
Acopon Brewing | Hans Trapp Russian Imperial Stout

For the past four years, residents of and visitors to the Texas Hill Country have had a privilege rarely bestowed on American beer drinkers — the opportunity to enjoy freshly brewed English-style beers served on cask at the singular Acopon Brewing taproom in Dripping Springs TX. While their beautifully delivered flagship Homunculus Dark Mild Ale and Gaspipes ESB continue to draw in both cask-curious and happily acclimated patrons from season to season, at this time of year there is another very good reason to make a trip to Acopon — the annual release of their Hans Trapp BBA Russian Imperial Stout.
Implications Behind Monster Energy’s Acquisition of CANarchy

2022 is already off to a wild start for craft beer and today it got a little wilder as it was announced that Monster Beverage Corps, the holding company whose subsidiaries include Monster Energy Drink has agreed to purchase CANarchy Craft Beverage Collective for $330 million in cash.
2021 Georgia Best in Beer Year-End Honors

Often times, smoked beers can offer similar notes and flavors to beef jerky. Separately, both incredible things; combined, not my cup of tea (or beer). Thankfully, no two iterations of any beer style are the same. Enter Django Pennsylvania, a Grodziskie style beer brewed by Ørkenoy in Chicago, IL in collaboration with Live Oak Brewing out of Austin, TX. A Grodziskie is a traditional Polish style, which is a very light, smoky beer, brewed with 100% wheat malt.

On the afternoon of December 30th, high winds coming off the foothills near Boulder, Colorado interacted with a grass fire, causing reported 40-foot flames. Early in the morning of December 11, 2021, tornadoes swept through Western Kentucky, destroying more than 1,000 properties and killing more than 70 people.
