TrimTab Brewing | Chocolate Sauce Barrel-Aged Stout
June 20, 2022 | Eric GriffinWhen discussing the craft beer scene in Alabama, one of the first names that comes up is TrimTab Brewing. Located in the heart of downtown Birmingham, TrimTab Brewing opened their doors in 2013. Since their very first day, they’ve always looked to create beers that fell under the category of expressive and experimental. Whether that was with their IPAs, their fruited Sours, or their Stouts, one thing you can always take away from TrimTab is their ability to keep their products lively, unique, and progressive. One of their newest releases in their Gallery Series is their Chocolate Sauce Imperial Stout. Not only does this series exemplify what TrimTab always aims to do, this particular beer could really mark a turning point in their Stout production.

de Garde Brewing | The Sixth Peach Wild Ale
June 13, 2022 | Karl KalinkewiczMillions of peaches, peaches for me. I get my peaches up in Georgia. I really want your peaches, want to shake your tree. Heck, even The Allman Bros. entitled a whole album “Eat a Peach.” Peaches have been a musical muse for so many, so it comes as no surprise that the delicious stone fruit would inspire countless beer makers in equal measure. de Garde Brewing in Tillamook, OR, a fine maker of all things sour, also cannot resist the allure of experimenting with the what has somehow become the emoji placeholder for the butt. The Sixth Peach is one result, and a beer worthy of its own song.
Previewing the 2022 Lake Dillon Beer Festival
June 10, 2022 | Tristan ChanThere are only a handful of beer festivals in the state of Colorado that have developed the kind of reputation which would compel breweries to jockey for a spot to pour the moment registration opens. The Lake Dillon Beer Festival is one of those destination festivals.
Set to one of the most stunning backdrops in the state, this Colorado-centric beer fest features some of the best breweries the Centennial state has to offer coupled with the rare backdrop of both lakeside and alpine views.

June 10, 2022 | Tristan ChanThe most incredible thing about attending a mountain beer festival is that festival goers are treated to both incredible beers and an even more breathtaking backdrop. Top Finds From the 2022 Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Festival
June 8, 2022 | Tristan ChanOver the past decade, it has become a little easy to take certain elements of the craft beer industry for granted. During that time, the country’s craft brewery count has swelled from just under 2,000 to over 9,000. Similarly, beer festivals, which were once more thoughtfully curated, intimate opportunities to interact with brewers while exploring an exciting array of newly released beers, have grown to become commodities and in many cases, a cash cow for event production companies that rarely have any actual ties to the industry.

June 8, 2022 | Jereme ZimmermanBed of Nails Brown Ale from Asheville, North Carolina’s Hi-Wire Brewing, is an American Brown Ale inspired by British brewing traditions.
Westbound & Down | Chicago Peaks Kolsch
June 7, 2022 | Britt Antley 1As the weather has transitioned to long, warm, pleasant days, one’s choice in beer necessarily becomes something that can be drunk for longer periods of time. No longer just getting it in while you can, this is the season for drinking sessions that extend for the duration of several beers, necessitating a beverage that is both refreshing and of moderate ABV so as to leave you in decent shape. This is the season for a beer like Westbound & Down Chicago Peaks Kolsch. Light and drinkable yet still packing serious flavor, this beer was made for warm weather get-togethers.
Fox Farm Brewery | Witch Meadow Black 2020
June 6, 2022 | Brandon CohranSummer sunshine be damned, we’re still enjoying Stouts despite this heat. The beer fridge was full and the selection was plentiful, but the chosen bottle today is one to remember.
Witch Meadow Black 2020, an Imperial Stout aged in bourbon and rum barrels with smoked coconut by Fox Farm Brewery in Salem, CT certainly helped fight off the Sunday Scaries this afternoon! This incredibly complex yet smooth Stout was 500ml of pure bliss. It neither overwhelmed in a combination of flavor nor body, despite the 13.6% ABV. Read More
Can’t-Miss Beers to Try at the Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Festival
June 3, 2022 | Tristan ChanThis weekend’s Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Festival will once again boast one of the more impressive lineups of beer producers from across the globe. But despite being such a great problem to have, being presented with such a formidable lineup of all-star beers, can sometimes feel a bit daunting. So we decided to help sift through the sea of phenomenal beers to highlight a few that have particularly piqued our interest. More selfishly, while we could easily just stick to the incredible lineup of Lagers available at the FWIBF, this was more an exercise in helping us to plan our own routes so we’re not scrambling the day of the festival.
