Beer Showcase | Big Thompson Brewery Otto’s Oktoberfest
September 28, 2017 | Bryan OldhamWhen it comes to Oktoberfest, there are plenty of things that come to mind. Lederhosen, Bavarian pretzels and rambunctious parties are included in that list. When the leaves begin to change and fall is in the air, one thing is almost certain; craft breweries will release their take on an Oktoberfest brew.
Big Thompson Brewery, a hidden gem in Loveland, Colorado, that just celebrated its two-year anniversary, is notorious for releasing Otto’s Oktoberfest quickly following the start of September. Coinciding with their employee brew-off and anniversary party, the release of Otto’s is an annual treat for patrons.

Fremont Brewing | Field to Ferment
September 27, 2017 | Hannah CarlsonSaying goodbye to summer is never easy—especially for those of us that reside in Seattle. The transition to fall is synonymous with diminishing daylight, raincoats, umbrellas, and the retirement of beloved camping gear until the following spring. But it isn’t all bad. Fall brings golden foliage, flannels and beanies, and of course, beer. Lots of it. Case in point: Fremont Brewing’s Field to Ferment, the freshest and most delectable Pale Ale that you’ll be able to get your hands on this season. Read More
The Brewtography Project’s Hotel Teatro Gallery Opening Showcases CO Craft Beer’s Best
September 27, 2017 | Tristan ChanI still remember the first time I met up with Dustin & Marcia Hall to enjoy a beer. I had only seen Dustin’s work on Instagram via his Brewtography Project account, but even through the illuminated lens of a iPhone 4 screen, I could see Dustin’s passion and eye for the craft.

Avery & Odell Effin’ Teamwork Stout Takes GABF Collaboration to the Next Level
September 26, 2017 | Tristan Chan 1To commemorate this year’s Great American Beer Festival, several breweries have already announced collaborative projects, however few tally as storied histories as Avery and Odell Brewing. Odell founded in 1989 and Avery, which launched in 1993, constitute two of the country’s earliest pioneers in the recent craft beer resurgence. Next week during craft beer’s largest stage, their mutual appreciation toward each other’s craft will manifest in the release of a collaboration beer unlike any other.
Free Will Brewing Company | Micromanager
September 26, 2017 | Kurt BevilacquaIt’s that time of year again. The time where nights start to become longer and the leaves change to vibrant colors that make for ideal Instagram posts. But before you throw on your scarf, go apple picking, and stock up on your favorite pumpkin beers, remember that there are still warms days left as summer slowly fades out of the picture. And that means still time to enjoy those crushable, refreshing beers while soaking in the sunshine!
Free Will Brewing Company, located in Bucks County north of Philadelphia, has gained a loyal fan base thanks in part to the impressive lineup of sour and barrel aged brews they produce. But that doesn’t mean you should sleep on their more available year-round offerings, including Micromanager. Read More

Event Recap | Telluride Blues & Brews Festival 2017
September 25, 2017 | Desiree DuzichTelluride sure knows how to throw a music festival, especially their Blues & Brews Fest. I personally think they should call it “Blues, Brews and Views” because the views all weekend were on point (insert awesome emoji here).

Fieldwork Brewing Co. | Hop & Glo Double IPA
September 25, 2017 | Justin CarterI recently wrote about the division of IPAs that’s happening. New England style IPA against West Coast IPA, a real Biggie vs. Tupac situation. But now, Berkeley’s Fieldwork Brewing Co. comes along and unites the two with Hop & Glo.

Avery Just Released Their GABF Cellar Sale List and Good God
September 22, 2017 | Tristan Chan 2In case you hadn’t heard, a few weeks ago Avery Brewing Company announced that it would be opening up its cellar to offload a substantial amount of beer they’d been holding on to for some time. The Boulder-based brewery who over the past 24 years grew a reputation for their line of massive, high ABV beers as well as their highly regarded foil top sour series, will now reintroduce a number of those one-off releases back into the wild. This cellar sale is scheduled to take place Friday, October 6 at 11am at Avery to coincide with the week of the Great American Beer Festival.
Monday Night Brewing’s 6th Anniversary & Grand Opening of Second Location
September 22, 2017 | Janelle Zabresky 1When you have two massive milestones to celebrate, you need the entire weekend. Tomorrow, Monday Night Brewing begins their biggest party to date. To celebrate the grand opening of its second brewery and its 6-year anniversary as a brewery, Monday Night will be hosting a two-day celebration event at its new West End barrel-aging and souring facility, the Garage, September 23 and September 24.
18th Street Brewing | Candi Crushable
September 22, 2017 | Craft Beer JoeLiving in Cincinnati, there’s no shortage of great beer. In fact, as of next week, we will have 42 breweries in the area. That’s more than enough to keep me busy.
But that doesn’t mean that I occasionally get the itch to try something from outside my area. When that happens, I drive across the Ohio / Indiana border to a place called Whitey’s. This is the local liquor store in Lawrenceburg, Indiana and is just minutes off the highway.

10 Years of Surliness: Why Surly Brewing Co. Doesn’t Fest Like the Rest
September 21, 2017 | Taylor LaabsMinneapolis-based Surly Brewing Co. prides itself on being different. Whether it’s their devilish branding, intensely hopped beer or awe-inspiring brew hall, Surly stands out in the increasingly dense Minnesota craft beer community. It only makes sense that their Oktoberfest celebration would be decidedly different as well.
Bonfire Brewing | Pink-I Raspberry IPA
September 21, 2017 | Chea FranzAs autumn fast approaches, and we start seeking winter warmers and other beers that are heavier in body and spiced with fall in mind, it’s important to remember— it’s only September! Many breweries are releasing their fall seasonals, but with warmer temperatures still trending in Colorado, I’m looking for something fruity with a more substantive ABV. Luckily, Bonfire Brewing has just that—Pink-I Raspberry IPA.

Dogfish Head Brewery | Namaste White Belgian-Style Witbier
September 20, 2017 | Sarah DuffyIt’s no coincidence that all of my favorite breweries are independently owned. Not only is Dogfish Head Brewery just that, it’s also still family-controlled! They make quite a few of my favorite beers, and Namaste White is one of those. It will come as no surprise to anyone who’s met me, but Belgian style white ales are probably my most favorite varietal. Of course the fact that Dogfish Head brews “off-centered ales for off-centered people” also appeals to me, naturally.
